Q. I was wonder, for the violin, the first note is a B flat on the G string for B flat major scale. To play a B flat is the first and second finger close together in a half step or a whole step?

A. To play a B flat the first and second finger are close together in a half step and Eb on the D string and the final Bb on the A string are played with low first fingers.
